6 Game Changers in 6 Months
our review of Jai Long’s Six Figure Business Map course
It’s been six months since we pulled the pin and dove head first into Jai Long’s Six Figure Business Map Course.
Jai is a wedding photographer and business coach based in Melbourne. We have known Jai for years, we’ve followed his work through social media, have heard him share his story in person and on podcasts, we’ve even been to one of his Melbourne workshops. And while we initially hesitated to join the Business Map, because we thought we had already learnt as much as we could from Jai, he continued to show up and offer even more value, to the point where we finally decided we had to sign up!
The Business Map is designed for wedding photographers and videographers looking to level up their business in every way, not only to hit financial goals but also create a sustainable business that they love.
It sounds cliché but Jai’s Business Map has literally changed our lives.

Here are 6 Game Changing advantages we’ve gained or decisions we’ve made in 6 months inside Jai Long’s Six Figure Business Map Course.
1. Investing in our Business
First things first, the biggest game changer has simply been to invest in our business. We joined Jai’s business map in January, after a year where we saw our income disappear almost overnight with more than half of our weddings getting postponed, downsized or cancelled. It really didn’t seem like the best time to be a wedding photographer. But if this season has taught us anything, it has made us realise what’s important to us and how much we love getting to do what we do and we are more determined than ever to create a sustainable business. With this renewed fire in our bellies, we were keen for any help we could get, to build our business despite the challenges. By investing in our business and spending our time and money we were taking action and making a commitment to ourselves to go all in and turn this ship around.
2. Joining a Community
This is totally underrated, but such a game changer - joining a community. We definitely didn’t expect just how motivating it would be to connect with so many like-minded business owners all seeking to level up. The Business Map Facebook group is full of story after story, of people sharing their wins and hitting goals, as well as others sharing honestly about challenges and asking for advice or ideas and the community just gets around it, celebrating or brainstorming, cheering each other on, it’s epic! The monthly masterminds are also incredible and maybe our favourite thing about the Business Map. Jai schedules group Zoom calls at least once a month where you can send in questions ahead of time for him to answer and brainstorm with you and the group. There is so much value in these calls, every question almost becomes a mini mentor session and you get to listen to everyone’s questions and engage in discussion.
3. Gaining a Business Coach
We’ve never had a Business Coach before and to be honest, we thought they were probably only for people who ran start ups, wanted to “grow their nest egg” or went on Shark Tank haha, but man are we grateful to have Jai as our Business Coach. Having Jai in our corner and access to him is the very definition of a game changer. We’ve had a website and portfolio review, mentoring session and countless email chats with Jai and it has all been so valuable. Jai has so much business knowledge and experience to draw upon and it is incredible to bounce ideas around and brainstorm solutions with him.
4. Changing our Business Name
If you’ve been following our journey for a little while, you will know that we changed our business name from “Ephemeral Creative” back to “Trent and Jessie” and while we had peers hint at this, Jai was the first one to tell us straight, that our business name may be the thing holding us back from growing the business we wanted. Since changing our name back in April we have seen an increase in enquiries and bookings and for ourselves a renewed sense of identity and clarity. Jai helped us navigate the whole transition and it has meant that something that felt like a failure has helped our business grow and connect with our community. We even had a really fun launch party to celebrate - you can watch our 30 second video below.
5. Hiring a Copywriter
Being the clever guy he is, Jai has drawn in the most talented people to be a part of his team and we, as members of the Business Map get to reap the rewards. We have to give a massive shoutout to Mel, who is the Business Map’s resident copywriter. Mel has spent a lot of time with us going over our website and price guide, not only improving our copy (the words we use), but helping us optimise keywords on our website for SEO and improve the user experience. We are now at a point where we feel more confident in our website and price guide than ever before. We are so grateful for Mel who went above and beyond and never made us feel silly for asking for help.
6. Growing Confidence
We have experienced a massive mindset shift in the past year, but especially since joining the Business Map. We have taken purposeful steps, some big, some small to grow our business and reach goals and while we still have plenty of work to do to achieve what we hope for, we now have a plan and the support around us to get to where we want to go. This is what gives us confidence and the belief that we can do it. Honestly, that really is priceless to us.
