We try not to play favourites, but when the service is faultless, the food is far beyond your average “alternate drop” and even as a vendor you are treated with so much kindness, it’s hard not to love The Refinery. We’re so excited to have this incredible wedding venue right in the heart of Brisbane.
The Refinery is a renovated warehouse in Newstead. What used to be an oil stained panel beater is now a sleek and functional blank canvas, super versatile, ready for whatever vibe you have in mind for your modern Brisbane wedding. The venue consists of a main indoor space, with a capacity of 110 people seated or 160 for a cocktail style reception and room for a dance floor. The indoor space flows into the semi-covered outdoor garden, complete with circular bar and perfect for a relaxed wedding ceremony followed by drinks and mingling. There is side access to the garden for all your guests to enter without seeing the reception setup and another passageway to your own private suite where you can freshen up whenever you need.
A huge reason we love The Refinery is the people behind this incredible space. Husband and wife, power couple, Dan and Rach are the visionaries and team captains who really make this venue. When these two struggled to find a wedding venue that ticked all the boxes for their own wedding, they decided to raise the standard and create their ideal modern Brisbane wedding venue. Their pursuit of excellence is evident in everything, from the ridiculously delicious food, streamlined service and coordination to the beautiful design and finishes and thoughtful range of venue inclusions.
With Dan as Head Chef, of both The Refinery and next door’s edgy degustation restaurant, Rogue Bistro you can trust that the food is going to be epic and trust us it really is, but I mean you don’t even need to trust us, you can taste it for yourselves, just book in a fancy date night at Rogue ;)
Rach is your Event Manager, she personally takes care of planning and seamless on-the-day coordination, so you can rest assured you’re in good hands. Having someone on-site to calmly oversee everything, work with your wedding vendors, keep time and take care of your guests is seriously underrated, but makes all the difference if you want your wedding day to be as stress-free as possible.
The Refinery is a wedding venue, where you really feel looked after and we can say that as very grateful vendors, but also from our couples who have had amazing experiences.

ONE LOCATION - Your ceremony and reception can be held at one location, allowing your guests to settle in for the afternoon and enjoy canapés and drinks while you head off for photos. This keeps things simple and easy, reducing travel and time pressure.
WET WEATHER OPTION - The outdoor space features a retractable awning, which means you have a wet weather backup, as well as the option to fully open it up on a stunning evening.
PRIVATE SUITE - The bridal suite is tucked away around the corner, a beautiful space to keep all your belongings, freshen up before/after photos and throughout the night. This is already included in venue packages.
THE FOOD - This ain't your average wedding food, it’s seriously top restaurant quality. You can dine at The Refinery’s sister venue, Rogue Bistro, to give you an idea of the style and vibe of food that is offered at weddings.
THOUGHTFUL INCLUSIONS - There’s beautiful, modern furniture, crockery, linen, glassware and minimal stationery that's all included. Simply arrange styling of your choice to make the space your own.
