Is Jai Long’s Six Figure Business Map too good to be true?

our experience after two years inside the course *2023 Update

As of January 2023, it’s been a full two years inside Jai Long’s Six Figure Business Map Course and our business has continued to evolve and grow and hit some unrealistic goals.

If you have read our 6 Game Changers in 6 Months post, you would know that early on in our Business Map journey, we changed our business name back to “Trent and Jessie” and had a relaunch party, all after chatting to Jai about our marketing. That would still be the biggest visible change we have made since joining Jai’s Six Figure Business Map, however we have seen and made a lot more changes that are less visible.

The biggest change for us is our mindsets and it’s easy to eye roll or overlook this point, but it really is a dramatic shift for us. We’ve gone from feeling lost and a little powerless when it comes to booking clients and growing our business to knowing how to proactively make a difference, particularly when it comes to our marketing and lead generation.

To give you some stats our average lead rate in 2020 was 3 enquiries a week and our average was even lower in 2019.
Our average for 2021 was
6 enquiries a week and in the last couple of months, it seems to be increasing, where we are often seeing at least 2 enquiries a day.

*UPDATE our 2022 average was 10 enquiries a week and we booked out our 2023 calendar before the end of 2022.

A lot of this comes back to us putting in the work, getting out of comfort zones and making things happen, but Jai’s course has given us a roadmap and the Business Map community has given us the confidence to try new things, risk failure and not fear rejection. The pay off feels so worth it.

For a little more insight into what you can expect when joining this wedding photography business course, the format is essentially what you would expect from an online course. The Business Map includes an online portal where the course is broken up into modules from “Nailing Your Pricing” to “Streamlining Your Operations”, each with multiple videos and resources. For us personally, we’ve been in business for 10 years and found some modules more helpful than others, but overall even the topics or concepts that weren’t new to us still gave us some fresh insight and we’ve found it worthwhile taking the extra time to really analyse these areas and see how we can improve.

You would be forgiven for thinking that the online portal with all the course material and videos is the Business Map, but really it’s the community. In our opinion, the real value in this course lies in the bi-monthly group calls and the Facebook group. Twice a month Jai hosts mastermind calls over Zoom where we can send in questions and then chat through them and brainstorm with everyone. The masterminds literally last for hours. These calls are priceless. Working for ourselves can sometimes feel a little isolating and previously we haven’t necessarily had someone we could ask what to do when we got stuck. This is why the community and group calls are so good. We’ve also connected with so many photographers and videographers all over the world too, which is really cool.

Something that we have found incredibly beneficial has simply been having someone who believes in us and can help steer us in the right direction. The encouragement and belief that we can do something has helped us enormously and caused us to step way outside our comfort zone and take bigger risks than we ever have.

Since joining the Business Map we have also started a YouTube channel. Speaking to and being in front of the camera is very much outside of our comfort zones and publishing one video a week is a big push for us, but we’re actually finding it really fun and a great way to connect with more people. Our big unrealistic goal is to reach 1000 subscribers, so that is what we’re working towards this year. So, while you’re checking out our YouTube, maybe you could hit subscribe too ;)

This Business Map journey is very personal to us and of course it will look different for everyone, but we really feel that Jai and this community have helped us turn our business around. From feeling like maybe we should consider a career change to being really excited about the endless possibilities our business opens up for us and all the ideas we could try and goals we could chase. There have been so many things that have previously felt out of reach for us, but now that we have more of a plan, we feel well on our way to getting where we want to go.

Full disclosure it is an affiliate link and we will get a small commission if you join. If you would like to ask us questions about the course feel free to email us or DM us on instagram. We wouldn’t share about the course if we hadn’t personally experienced so much growth, we’re honestly quite surprised at just how much.

We hope you found this blog helpful. You can also check out our original six month review of Jai Long’s Six Figure Business Map below.
