Trent and Jessie Relaunch Party
It’s been a big year for us and yes, it is only June.
Earlier this year, after some tough conversations with peers and mentors, we made the decision to reach out and ask our community if they thought we should change our business name back to “Trent and Jessie” and the resounding response was “YES, please do that! Change back to Trent and Jessie! We don’t even know how to say the other one, Effemma-what?”.
Just in case you’re new around here, we started our wedding photography business back in 2012, almost from the start we were known as “Trent and Jessie”. Then in 2017, we started offering wedding videos and our good friend, Tim came on board and because we were no longer just Trent and Jessie, we rebranded to “Ephemeral Creative”. For the past few years, we’ve continued to grow our team, but it was becoming clear that our new name wasn’t as memorable or as easy to say or spell and this was impacting our business.
Fast forward through a couple of years of pressing on, we finally faced the thought that maybe we could change back to “Trent and Jessie” and with the support of our incredible community we did!
& to celebrate we threw a party! This is what it looked like…
An amazing space
The Lussh is one of Brisbane’s newest and most aesthetically pleasing event spaces. We have to say a big thank you to Sophie, Maree and the team at The Lussh for hosting our event. Their space is a stunning mix of modern luxury and warehouse richness and we can’t get enough. Everyone we spoke to on the night commented on how much they loved the venue and how warm and inviting it was. We felt so lucky to be holding our event somewhere so lovely.
Delicious grazing
While the Lussh made sure everyone had a drink in hand, Say Cheese supplied the grazing goods and what a spread they put on. This grazing table was absolutely demolished, not even a cracker left over. We can’t thank Zoe from Say Cheese enough for sticking around and (covid) safely providing everyone with bamboo boats of whatever their hearts desired from the bounty of charcuterie.
Smooth sounds
We had the pleasure of being serenaded by the chill acoustic sounds of the one and only Dave Webster. Dave crafted the perfect vibes for our cosy event and it really added to the night. Dave is such a talent, we are so grateful he could be there.
Special mention
We gave a short, relatively unprepared speech on the night, just casually pouring our hearts out about how much this business means to us and how grateful we are for everyone who shows up and supports us on this journey. Business is amazing and it’s hard and it’s exciting and it’s stressful and overall it is so incredibly worth it, there’s nothing we would rather be doing. Special thank you to Zac for taking a bunch of these photos and our right hand man and long time friend Tim for getting some video footage for us.
Photobooth lovin’
Lastly, but certainly not least, the photobooth from The Wild Booth Co was a massive hit! I mean we had a ball, but pretty much everyone who came, jumped in front of the lens and took home some hilarious photostrips. HUGE thank you to Kiefa and Jake, the absolute legends and long time industry friends who provided the photobooth.
Thank you to YOU, dear reader, thank you for taking the time to read this blog post and click on our website, we are so grateful for everyone who crosses our path on this business journey, whether that be in a big way or just a casual wave, thank you.
