From the good people who brought you Lightspace, comes the sweetest country hall, only meters from James Street. Built in the 1920’s, Loyal Hope is a heritage listed hall positioned in the shade of a Moreton Bay Fig tree, neighbouring St Patricks Church in Fortitude Valley.
Originally “The Loyal Hope of the Valley Lodge” was constructed in 1923 as part of the Oddfellows Friendly Society, a philanthropic organisation run by members to assist with healthcare and funeral costs for those in need. The hall was used for meetings and hired our for community events. It’s very cool to see the space beautifully restored and available for events and community use once again.
This venue really is quaint, with white timber walls, polished timber floor boards, beautiful heritage windows, a cool green-tiled bar, comfy lounges and plenty of pot plants, this venue is perfect for a cosy and relaxed wedding with a guest list on the smaller side. The greenery continues outside to a landscaped courtyard with big leafy plants, incorporating greenery wherever possible is surely a trademark of the Lightspace family.
The venue is accessible via a ramp at the front entrance and is all one level. The space is air-conditioned and includes AV, so your lighting and sound is taken care of. As another added bonus, designer furniture pieces, dining tables and bentwood chairs are all included in the hire. Just off the entryway are two extra rooms lined with quirky artefacts and artwork, one of the rooms contains comfy seating perfect for a quiet moment or good conversation and the other with a retro Foosball table.
When it comes to an intimate, light-filled event space in a central location, Loyal Hope is hard to beat. If you’re after a space with wholesome and homely vibes that will comfortably accomodate 80-100 of your favourite people, Loyal Hope is definitely worth a visit.
