Upon leaving Germany we hit the autobahn in our hired Renault (Trent reached 180 kph!!!) and swiftly headed for Switzerland to commence our Swiss-French roadtrip! We explored the beautiful Swiss town of Thun then on towards the alps. We made our way along very narrow and winding alpine roads, stopping every now and then to take in the tremendous views and photograph rivers along the roadside. Once over the French border we headed for our accommodation in Les Houches near Chamonix, where we were greeted with the highest of mountain peaks towering over us. We weren't so fortunate with the weather, so we missed out on seeing a few of the more spectacular peaks, however still managed to check out the Mer De Glace. All in all, the monumental landscape has a way of making you feel rather small and putting things in perspective.
